Saudi Arabia's Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman met on Monday with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is an official visit to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations within the framework of a strategic partnership. They also explored ways to strengthen them, especially in matters related to defense.
The meeting reviewed the efforts made by Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom to enhance, preserve and protect the region from any threats; and their role in establishing global peace and security, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
They also discussed the latest developments in Yemen in light of the comprehensive Saudi initiative to end the crisis, paving the way for a permanent and comprehensive political solution as well as the need to exert pressure on the Houthis to engage in efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully.
Commenting on his meeting with Raab, Prince Khalid tweeted, saying: "Met with H.E the UK Foreign Secretary @DominicRaab to review the strategic partnership between our two countries and our common vision for strengthening regional security and stability, addressing mutual challenges, and peace efforts in Yemen in light of the Saudi initiative."
The meeting also attended by Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom Prince Khalid Bin Bandar; Ambassador of King Salman to the United Kingdom, Saudi Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili; Military Adviser to the Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Talal Al-Otaibi; and Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Muhammad Bin Saeed Al-Jaber; and Director-General of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defense Hisham Bin Abdulaziz Bin Saif.
The meeting also attended by UK Ambassador to the Kingdom Neil Crompton and the delegation accompanying the minister.
