Prime Minister of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch hailed the ambitious goal announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to target net zero carbon emissions by 2060.
This came during the opening ceremony of the Middle East Green Initiative Summit, inaugurated here today by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister.
Akhannouch pointed out that the issues of climate change constitute a major challenge that requires redirecting investments towards economic activities that achieve a balance among economic, environmental and social objectives. The Moroccan Prime Minister stressed that these initiatives clearly reflect the forward-looking vision of the Saudi leadership to address the main challenges related to the environment and the phenomenon of climate change.
