The General Directorate of Passports has announced that Saudi citizens can report the loss of their passports through the Absher platform.

How to report a lost Saudi passport

Citizens can submit a lost passport report by logging into their Absher account, selecting 'My Services', then 'Passports', followed by 'Saudi Passport Services', and finally choosing 'New Request' to file the report.

Passport renewal requirements

The General Directorate of Passports also stated that citizens can renew their passports electronically via the Ministry of Interior's Absher platform, provided that at least six months remain on the current passport's validity at the start of the renewal process. The authority urged citizens to comply with all requirements and conditions for renewing passports for themselves and their family members.

The authority confirmed that passports can be used for travel to Arab countries up to three months before expiry, and for other countries up to six months before expiry.

It also stressed that the family registry card is not considered a travel document, and that the digital national ID available through Absher and Tawakkalna platforms does not permit international travel outside the Kingdom.

The General Directorate of Passports emphasized the importance of carrying a valid passport or national ID when traveling to Gulf Cooperation Council countries to meet travel requirements and avoid any issues during the journey.
