Kuwait will impose anationwide curfew starting on Sunday from 5 pm until 4 am to fight the spreadof the coronavirus pandemic, state news agency KUNA said, citing the cabinet.
Kuwait, which went intovirtual lockdown on Thursday, has taken some of the most drastic steps in theregion to curb the virus' spread. The health ministry reported that 12 patientshave recovered from the disease in the past three days, bringing the total to30.
The Gulf country, which hasreported 188 cases of the virus, said violators of the curfew could face up tothree years in jail or fines of up to 10,000 dinars ($32,157). The KuwaitNational Guard will aid police in imposing the curfew.
