Domestic workers in Saudi Arabia entitled to end-of-service gratuity after four years: Musaned

Saudi Arabia’s Musaned platform for domestic labor services has clarified that domestic workers are entitled to end-of-service gratuity after completing four consecutive years with their employer.

The platform stated on its official X account that the gratuity is equivalent to one month’s wage, calculated based on the worker’s final salary, and is to be paid when the employment relationship ends.

Musaned emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of both parties in the contractual relationship, urging employers to settle all dues owed to domestic workers upon contract completion.

Recruitment of domestic workers

The official Musaned account also stressed the importance of using official channels when recruiting domestic workers, highlighting that making all payments through the platform is the safest way to ensure transparency and avoid fraud.

Musaned explained on X that protecting the financial and legal rights of beneficiaries relies on three main steps:

Payment through Musaned: All fees should be paid electronically via the platform’s official channels, ensuring documentation of transactions and protection for users.

Verification of recruitment offices: Confirm that the recruitment office is licensed and officially registered with Musaned before starting the contracting process.

Review and approval of contracts: Check the terms and format of the recruitment contract through the platform and approve it electronically to ensure documentation and protect the rights of all parties.
