Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted on Wednesday morning "a hostile air target" fired toward the Kingdom's Western Region, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said.

The Ministry of Defense adopts all necessary measures to safeguard the security and integrity of the Kingdom and its national capabilities and protect civilians and civilian objects, Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Malki said.

"The Ministry of Defense will undertake decisive and deterrent measures to stop these cross-border hostile acts," he said.

On Tuesday, the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said it has bombed military targets in the capital Sanaa; after the Iran-aligned Houthis launched ballistic missiles and armed drones into Saudi Arabia.

The coalition conducted "precision strikes on legitimate military targets in Sanaa"; and in the last 24 hours also attacked Houthi targets in Marib and Jouf, a statement from the coalition said.
