The two sides during the meeting exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the Palestinian issue, situation in Sudan, Yemen and Libya and developments regarding Iran's nuclear issue, its role and destabilizing activities in the region. The meeting also discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan and Ukraine.

GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Owaishek stated that holding the third dialogue stems from the GCC’s role as a partner of the United Nations in promoting peace and security at the regional and international levels and in implementation of the signed memorandum of understanding between the council and the UN in December 2018.
