GCC Secretary General extols relationship with Egypt to increase Stability in the Region

The joint ministerial meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt was held in Riyadh today, based on the close relations among the leaders and peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the strong fraternal and historical ties between them as well as in accordance with the principle of consultation and coordination with regard to the regional and international issues of common interest, in order to enhance the role of the two sides in achieving peace, sustainable development and serving the supreme aspirations of the Arab and Islamic nations.

The meeting was co-chaired by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council, and Sameh Hassan Shoukry, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of the GCC Foreign Ministers and GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

The meeting dealt with relations between the GCC and Egypt, and ways to support and enhance them in various fields. The two sides also reviewed the latest developments and issues of common interest at the regional and international arenas. The discussions affirmed the convergence of views on these issues. The two sides affirmed a continuation of consultations and coordination between the GCC and Egypt, in a way that supports and enhances security and stability in the region and the world in order to achieve the aspirations of their peoples and serve the Arab and Islamic nations.

The Egyptian side expressed confidence in the success of the GCC summit, which will be held in Riyadh on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, affirming that its results will contribute to promoting peace and sustainable development and serving the supreme aspirations of the Arab and Islamic nations.
