GCC Foreign Ministers Hold 150th Preparatory Session for GCC Summit

The GCC Foreign Ministers held here today the 150th preparatory session for the Gulf Summit of the GCC Ministerial Council in Riyadh, chaired by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current session, with the participation of the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

Dr. Al-Hajraf congratulated the Kingdom for assuming the presidency of the 42nd session of the GCC. He also thanked Bahrain for its efforts during its presidency of the GCC 41st session, which enabled the General Secretariat to follow up, coordinate, and prepare reports, confirming the importance of continuity of work despite the precautionary measures caused by the Corona pandemic.

The GCC Secretary-General hailed the Gulf tour of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to the GCC member states, which emanated from the long-standing historical ties that bind the Kingdom with the GCC countries, and implementation of the directives of the GCC leaders to develop and strengthen relations in various fields, and push them towards broader horizons.

Al-Hajraf said the Foreign Ministers expressed their confidence that the session will be a continuation of the previous summits towards more prosperity and progress, and look forward to strengthening the process of cooperation in all fields, and meet the aspirations of the GCC citizens, especially as the GCC enters the fifth decade of its march towards achieving security and prosperity for its countries and peoples under the wise guidance and visions of the GCC leaders.

He added that today's meeting discussed topics on the agenda, including the report of the General Secretariat on the implementation of the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, which was approved by the Supreme Council in 2015, and the decisions implemented in this regard and what has been accomplished towards achieving integration and cooperation in the process of joint Gulf action, in addition to the reports and recommendations submitted by the competent councils, ministerial committees, and the General Secretariat in preparation for submission to the Supreme Council of the GCC at its 42nd meeting, which will be held on 14 December in Riyadh.
