Thunderstorms and dust-laden winds forecast across Saudi Arabia Sunday

The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for Sunday, corresponding to 12-2-1448 Hijri, indicating continued thunderstorms with hail and strong winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, extending to areas of the Makkah highlands.

Active winds stirring dust and sand are expected in the eastern parts of these regions, causing near-zero visibility along the coastal road to Jazan and in eastern areas of Najran.

Maximum temperatures will remain high in the southern parts of the Eastern Province.

For the Red Sea, northwesterly to westerly surface winds will be active in the northern and central parts at 12–35 km/h, shifting to westerly and southwesterly at 15–40 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h with thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, exceeding two meters with thunderstorms in the south.

In the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly to westerly winds will be active at 15–35 km/h in the north, and northeasterly to easterly winds shifting to northerly in the evening at 10–25 km/h in the central and southern parts. Wave heights will be between half a meter and one and a half meters in the north, and half a meter to one meter in the central and southern areas.
