Severe heat and dust storms forecast across Saudi Arabia on Wednesday

The National Center for Meteorology has issued its weather forecast for Wednesday, corresponding to 8-2-1448 in the Hijri calendar, predicting continued chances of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds over parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan, extending into parts of Najran. Meanwhile, the weather will remain hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Province and parts of Riyadh and Madinah regions.

Active winds raising dust and sand will persist in these areas, as well as in parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and the eastern sections of the western and southwestern highlands.

Weather conditions for Wednesday

For the Red Sea, surface winds will be northwesterly to westerly on the northern part and northwesterly to southwesterly on the central part at speeds of 15–45 km/h, and southeasterly to southwesterly at 12–34 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h with the formation of thunderclouds and rain over the southern part.

Wave heights will range from one to two meters in the north, from one to two meters—rising to over two and a half meters during early morning hours—in the central part, and from half a meter to one and a half meters, reaching over two meters with thunderclouds and rain in the southern part.
