Passports authority sets travel validity rules before passport expiry

The General Directorate of Passports confirmed that a passport may be used for travel up to three months before its expiry for Arab countries, and up to six months for other countries. Travelers are advised to check the entry requirements of their destination before departure.

The authority also noted that the family registry card is not considered a travel document, and that the digital national ID available through Absher and Tawakkalna platforms does not permit travel outside the Kingdom.

The Passports Authority emphasized the importance of carrying a valid passport or national ID when traveling to Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and adhering to the approved travel documents for such travel.
