Saudi traffic authority warns against weaving between vehicles, fines up to SAR 6,000

The General Directorate of Traffic has warned of the dangers of weaving between vehicles on public roads, stressing that this behavior can cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

The authority stated on X that weaving at speed between vehicles is a traffic violation, with fines ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 riyals (SAR).

Important driving safety reminders

The General Directorate of Traffic emphasized the need to drive cautiously on all roads.

It added on X that drivers must adhere to speed limits, maintain a safe distance, and yield the right of way when required.

Other reminders include using turn signals when changing direction or lanes, staying focused and attentive, avoiding distractions, and using hazard lights for any sudden changes on the road.

These warnings are part of ongoing awareness campaigns by the General Directorate of Traffic to ensure public safety. The authority previously noted that using the road shoulder or designated turning lanes to overtake vehicles is also a traffic violation.
