The General Directorate of Traffic has warned of the dangers of speeding and weaving between vehicles on public roads, stressing that such behavior significantly increases the risk of traffic accidents.

Fines for weaving between vehicles

The Traffic Department stated via X that weaving at speed between vehicles is a traffic violation, with fines ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 riyals (SAR).

Traffic signal categories

The General Directorate of Traffic also outlined the main categories of traffic signals, noting that compliance ensures the safety of drivers and all road users.

The four categories are as follows:

First: Warning signs, which alert drivers to potential road hazards such as slippery surfaces, narrowing lanes, inclines, and speed bumps.

Second: Regulatory signs, which specify rules and regulations to be followed, including no U-turns, maximum speed limits, and designated lanes.

Third: Guide signs, which provide directional information for services and locations such as Red Crescent stations, fuel stations, and tunnels.

Fourth: Work zone and temporary signs, which warn drivers and direct traffic in areas with roadworks or maintenance.

Driving too slowly is also a violation

Saudi Traffic authorities clarified situations where driving too slowly constitutes a traffic violation, warning against driving at low speeds that impede the flow of vehicles.

The department confirmed that moving too slowly in a way that disrupts traffic is a violation, with fines ranging from 300 to 500 riyals.

Drivers are urged to maintain appropriate speeds for road conditions and to avoid driving in a manner that obstructs traffic or affects its smooth flow.
