The General Directorate of Passports has enabled the issuance of resident IDs for domestic workers and similar categories for periods starting from three months and their multiples, through the Absher platform.

The authority explained that this service allows employers to issue resident IDs electronically via the Ministry of Interior’s Absher e-services platform, making it easier to complete the process without visiting service centers.

It stated that to use the service, users should log in to Absher, select "My Workers," and then choose the "Issue Resident ID" service to complete the procedures.

The Passports Directorate confirmed that issuing a resident ID via Absher or Muqeem platforms requires payment of the prescribed fees and completion of the necessary medical examination.

It also noted that a late issuance fine of 500 riyals applies if the resident ID is not issued within 90 days of the worker’s entry date.
