A question was submitted to the Civil Affairs Agency's official account, asking: "I want to update my profession to homemaker in Civil Affairs. I found the 'Update Citizen Profession' service on Absher, but when I try to start, it says requests are closed for today due to reaching the daily limit. Is there a specific time when I can apply online?"

The Civil Affairs Agency clarified on its X platform page that to change the profession to homemaker, applicants must visit the nearest Civil Affairs office and bring their most recent educational qualification.

Registering newborns on Absher

The Civil Affairs Agency also offers an electronic newborn registration service through the Absher platform.

On X, the agency explained that this online service allows citizens and residents to register newborns electronically, request delivery of family records and birth certificates for citizens, and birth certificates for residents, directly to the beneficiary's national address without needing to visit Civil Affairs offices.

The steps to use the service are as follows:

  • Log in to the Absher platform and select "My Services"

  • Click on the Civil Affairs icon

  • Select the newborn registration service

  • Review the requirements and complete the application

Civil Affairs emphasized that births must be registered within 30 days of the date of birth. If this period is exceeded, a fine will be imposed, calculated at 50 riyals (SAR) for each year of delay.
