Heavy thunderstorms expected across Saudi Arabia on Sunday

The National Center of Meteorology has forecast continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms across the Kingdom on Sunday, corresponding to 2-4-1448 in the Hijri calendar. The affected regions include Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah, where heavy rain may lead to flash floods, hail showers, and strong winds. There is also a chance of fog forming in these areas, as well as along the eastern coastal parts of the Eastern Province.

Thunderclouds accompanied by strong winds, raising dust and sand, are also possible in parts of Najran and the southern areas of the Eastern Province.

Red Sea marine conditions today

Surface winds over the Red Sea are expected to be north to northwesterly at speeds between 15 and 38 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, with sea conditions described as slight to moderate.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be southwesterly to southeasterly at 10 to 25 km/h. Waves are expected to reach heights of half a meter to one meter, with slight sea conditions.
