Mauritanian Siamese Twins Arrive in KSA to undergo surgery

Mauritanian SiameseTwins " Mohammed and Fadeel" arrived with their family here yesterday upon thedirectives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin AbdulazizAl Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, CrownPrince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The Siamese twins weretransferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children Hospital of the Ministry ofNational Guard to study their case and the possibility of separating them.

The father of thetwins expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom's leadershipfor the warm reception and , generous hospitality. The father added that thetransfer of the twins to Riyadh was completed smoothly, confirming his trust inthe medical team led by Advisor to the Royal Court, Supervisor General of KingSalman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and Head of the MedicalTeam Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah.

It is worth notingthat the Mauritanian Siamese twins represent the 108th case from 22 countriesstudied at the Saudi National Program for the Separation of Twins. If themedical team approves the separation operation of these twins, this operationwill be 49th case in one of the biggest programs for separation of conjoinedtwins in the world.
