Patients entitled to electronic copies of medical tests, expert says

Cardiology consultant and professor Dr. Khaled Al-Nemer has stated that healthcare facilities are not permitted to deny patients access to an electronic copy (such as a CD) of their medical test results.
Al-Nemer added on the X platform that patients have the right to obtain copies of their medical examinations, including ultrasound images, catheterization results, and other tests.

He further explained that, according to patient rights approved by the Ministry of Health, patients are entitled to request a detailed medical report and an electronic copy of their original images in a viewable format, either on a CD or another digital medium, for the purpose of continuing treatment or seeking a second opinion. The original file and images remain stored with the healthcare facility, and patients are given copies in accordance with official procedures. Unjustified refusal to provide these copies is inconsistent with patient rights, and complaints can be filed with the Ministry of Health by calling '937'.
