Photographer Ahmed Al-Funaidel captures Hail’s natural treasures in 6,000 images

Photographer and social media influencer Ahmed Al-Funaidel says his passion for documenting the natural beauty of the Hail region began in 2012. Since then, he has captured more than 6,000 photographs and 50 hours of video—each video averaging a minute in length—throughout his career. His work has helped introduce many of Hail’s natural and tourist sites to a wider audience, attracting visitors from across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf to explore the region’s landscapes and learn how to reach them.

Al-Funaidel explained that his lens has captured unique locations in Hail during the spring that remain largely unknown to the public. He noted that the diversity of terrain and natural environments in the region requires repeated visits throughout the year to fully document its ever-changing beauty.

He added that Hail’s summer season also offers distinctive tourism opportunities. The Gharameel area, for example, is renowned for night photography and exceptional stargazing, while the region’s archaeological sites feature Thamudic inscriptions recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage in Jubbah and Shuwaymis. These sites hold significant historical and aesthetic value, attracting tourists and heritage enthusiasts alike.

Al-Funaidel said he is committed to promoting Hail’s natural attractions internationally. He cited his participation in a hiking and photography event in Norway’s Lofoten Islands, where he introduced visitors and locals to Saudi Arabia’s landscapes and culture, highlighting Hail’s unique tourism and natural assets.
