A human nutrition professor at Taibah University, Suha Abdel Jawad, has warned of several factors that increase the risk of food poisoning when ordering food in the summer.

Speaking in an interview with Al Ekhbariya radio, she said these factors include long delivery times, exposure of food to sunlight, not using insulated bags, and repeatedly opening the delivery bag.

She added that maintaining food safety becomes more challenging as temperatures rise, since heat accelerates bacterial growth and increases the risk of poisoning by multiplying bacteria. The danger is heightened during traffic congestion. Meals most at risk include meat, fish, and desserts, while dry foods are less susceptible to microbes.
