Phone charger fire kills Egyptian teenager in Cairo

A tragic incident occurred in the Al-Salam district of East Cairo on Sunday, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old Egyptian man after a fire broke out in his home caused by a mobile phone charger.

Authorities received a report that the young man had died from severe burns, which led to cardiac arrest.

Investigations revealed that the victim, who worked in construction, had placed his phone on a charger connected to an electrical outlet beside his bed before going to sleep.

While he was sleeping, an electrical short circuit caused the charger to explode and set the room on fire, resulting in severe burns across his body. He died from his injuries.

Officials filed a report on the incident, and the Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the fire.
