Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission launches Kingdom’s pavilion at Moscow International Book Fair 2026

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission today inaugurated Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the 2026 Moscow International Book Fair, held in the Russian capital from September 2 to 6.

Chief Executive Officer of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, said Saudi Arabia’s participation reflects the deep historical cultural ties between the Kingdom and the Russian Federation. He added that the event aims to showcase Saudi literary and intellectual activity to Russian and international audiences, noting that the Saudi pavilion serves as a comprehensive cultural window highlighting the intellectual and creative diversity flourishing under Saudi Vision 2030.

He explained that the Commission seeks through this presence to support Saudi creatives and publishers, open new horizons for cultural exchange and the publishing industry, and pointed out that the fair is a vital platform for fostering cultural dialogue and building bridges of knowledge among intellectuals worldwide.

The Saudi pavilion brings together a number of government bodies and cultural organizations led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, including the King Fahd National Library, King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Abdulaziz Endowment Libraries Complex, King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an, Nashir Publishing and Distribution Company, King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Turkey, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center for Arabic Calligraphy, offering a comprehensive picture of the national cultural landscape.

The Commission has also prepared an accompanying cultural program featuring a series of panel discussions and poetry evenings with leading Saudi writers and intellectuals. These sessions will address topics in literature, publishing, and translation, and highlight Saudi cultural achievements and their impact on the international stage.

This participation is part of the Commission’s efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s cultural presence at major international events and to promote national initiatives supporting authors and books, reinforcing the Kingdom’s status as a leading cultural destination and a beacon of knowledge.
