Second Dioudrama Theater Festival continues cultural events in Al-Baha

The second edition of the Dioudrama Theater Festival, organized by the Theater and Performing Arts Commission in cooperation with the Al-Baha Society for Culture and Arts, is underway at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Al-Baha and will run until August 31, 2026.

The festival's first two days featured in-depth artistic and humanistic readings, a specialized workshop on stage space, scenography, and playwriting, as well as a visual arts exhibition and performing arts shows. Additional activities included an Arabic calligraphy workshop, the "Kingdom of Cooking" event, and a puppet theater.

The program also included a critical reading session that explored the role of dramatic adaptation in texts, their human dimensions, and narrative structure. Short performances contributed to a lively and interactive atmosphere among the audience.

Diverse theatrical performances

Festival highlights included the play "Black Box," which addressed themes of time, absence, and missed opportunities from a human perspective. Another performance, "S - B," used symbolism to explore questions of awareness, choice, and the influence of others.

The festival also featured the play "What Cannot Be Buried," a theatrical journey delving into humanity's struggle with its own creations.
