King Abdulaziz University honors students for Silicon Valley festival wins

King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Tareef bin Yousef Al-Aama honored students who secured the grand prize, two gold medals, and a silver medal at the Silicon Valley International Festival of Invention and Innovation, held in the United States and featuring 500 inventors from 30 countries.

The team that won the grand prize included four King Abdulaziz University students, representing Tuwaiq Academy: Jihad Al-Juhani, Hassan Al-Zahrani, Al-Anoud Al-Qarzaai, and Doaa Farah.

Their projects received awards for three innovative inventions: "Solara," a nanocoating that protects solar panels from dust and water while cooling them to boost efficiency and reduce damage; "Hospitalink," a device and app that locates the nearest hospitals with available beds to speed up emergency transfers; and "Draphene," which uses date pits as a raw material to produce graphene through more efficient and innovative methods, helping lower production costs.
