Egyptian teenager drowns after rescuing six at Alexandria beach

Eighteen-year-old Egyptian Ziad Mohamed Ahmed drowned while attempting to rescue six people from drowning at Al-Bitash beach, west of Alexandria, after seeing them struggling in an area not designated for swimming.

Ziad entered the water and managed to pull all six individuals to safety, braving strong currents that had swept them away from the shore.

After successfully saving everyone, he was caught by the currents as he tried to return to shore, leading to his death by drowning.

Alexandria’s Central Administration for Tourism and Resorts mourned Ziad, noting he was from the Dekheila district and that the incident occurred at Al-Bitash beach, which is closed and not suitable for swimming.

The administration extended its condolences to his family, praying for mercy for the deceased and patience for his loved ones.
