Travel expert shares tips for finding the cheapest flight tickets

Abdullah Al-Mulhim, a travel and tourism expert, has revealed several strategies and tips that travelers can use to obtain cheaper flight tickets, highlighting the importance of comparing airline websites and various search engines.

Speaking to Al Arabiya FM radio, Al-Mulhim explained that some airlines offer exclusive deals on their official websites, while specialized search engines allow users to compare prices across different carriers. He also noted that some travel agencies may provide tickets at lower prices by using servers outside Saudi Arabia.

He pointed out that searching for flights from different departure points can reveal significant price differences, citing the example of booking a trip to the United States via Cairo and Riyadh at a much lower cost than booking directly from Saudi Arabia.

Al-Mulhim added that some offers are available only for short periods, giving an example of a business class ticket from Jeddah to London via Riyadh for about 4,000 riyals, compared to around 15,000 riyals for a direct flight from Riyadh.

He emphasized that taking advantage of such deals requires continuous searching, noting that exceptional prices can appear unexpectedly, and those who keep searching are more likely to find and benefit from them before they expire.

Addressing the belief that repeatedly searching for the same flight increases its price, he clarified that search engines may save search data. He advised travelers to switch platforms or browsers, or try a different server, to avoid being affected by previous search results.

He stressed the importance of early travel planning, especially during peak seasons, explaining that travelers seeking reasonable prices should start searching about three to four months before their trip. A longer period may be needed during the summer due to high demand and the quick sell-out of the cheapest ticket categories.
