Al-Baha Municipality launches second municipal innovation hackathon with eight tracks

Al-Baha Municipality, in cooperation with the Digital Entrepreneurship Center at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has launched the second Municipal Innovation Hackathon for 2026 under the slogan "Together We Innovate for Sustainable Municipal Services and Urban Quality of Life." The initiative aims to attract innovative solutions, develop municipal services, and boost the urban economy.

Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat, Mayor of Al-Baha Region, said the second edition of the hackathon serves as a platform to empower unique ideas, transform them into viable projects, and strengthen partnerships between the municipal sector, entrepreneurs, and innovators. This, he added, will help develop sustainable solutions that meet residents' needs and enhance service quality.

The hackathon features eight tracks: support for mobile vendors, urban planning and city humanization, dignified burial services, community partnerships, urban landscape improvement, emergency and crisis management, investment development, and enhancing user experiences.

The municipality stated that the hackathon will run until September 8, 2026, with digital prizes for winning projects totaling up to 500,000 riyals (SAR).

Participation requires Saudi nationality, a minimum age of 21, teams of at least three members, and projects must be technology-based and aligned with one of the hackathon tracks. Participants must also adhere to all requirements and submission deadlines.
