Flynas launches first direct flights between Riyadh and Aleppo

Flynas, the world’s leading low-cost airline and the first in the Middle East, has celebrated the launch of its inaugural direct flights between Riyadh and Aleppo in Syria. This move strengthens its international route network and supports air connectivity in line with national tourism and aviation objectives, as well as Saudi Vision 2030. The launch ceremony was held at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on August 1, attended by Mohsen Mahbash, chargé d'affaires at the Syrian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, along with representatives from Flynas and Riyadh Airports Company. Passengers on the first flight were welcomed with commemorative gifts. Representatives from Flynas and Aleppo International Airport also greeted the flight upon its arrival in Aleppo.

Flynas will operate two direct flights per week between Riyadh and Aleppo, offering flexible travel options and meeting growing demand for travel between the two countries. This follows Flynas becoming the first Saudi carrier to resume flights to Damascus in June last year.

With this addition, the number of flights and routes operated by Flynas between Saudi Arabia and Syria rises to 26 weekly flights. The airline currently operates 14 weekly flights between Riyadh and Damascus, with two flights daily, as well as seven weekly flights between Jeddah and Damascus, and three weekly direct flights between Dammam and Damascus.

The new Riyadh–Aleppo route is part of Flynas’s strategic growth and expansion plan, launched under the slogan "Connecting the World to the Kingdom." This aligns with the National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to enable Saudi carriers to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030, as well as with the Guests of God Program to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.
