Al-Khubara Promenade in Qassim boosts economy and tourism

Al-Khubara Promenade in the Qassim region has emerged as a prominent economic and tourism destination, leveraging its strategic location on King Fahd Road (Qassim–Madinah Expressway). This positioning makes it a key stop for travelers and visitors, as well as a platform for marketing the region’s agricultural, handicraft, and heritage products.

The promenade combines commercial activity with tourism and entertainment events, helping to stimulate economic movement and support farmers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. It places particular emphasis on showcasing local products, especially dates.

The project features around 160 retail stores and 40 kiosks, spanning nearly 50,000 square meters. This provides a diverse environment for commercial activities, festivals, and seasonal events, offering startups and family businesses opportunities to reach a wider consumer base.

The design of the project is inspired by Najdi identity and local architecture, with dedicated areas for products, food, crafts, and entertainment activities. This adds a cultural and heritage dimension to the economic and tourism experience.

Date festival and support for local development

The promenade’s significance is especially evident during the date season, as it hosts the Al-Khubara and Riyadh Al-Khubara Date Festival for 2026, scheduled from August 1 to September 15. The festival combines date and local product marketing with heritage and entertainment events, increasing benefits for farmers and producers from visitor traffic.

The promenade is part of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Khudair Endowment’s development projects, contributing to local development, empowering youth, women, and family businesses, and transforming the site into a destination that blends shopping, entertainment, and the promotion of Qassim’s products and heritage.

In this context, Al-Khubara Promenade exemplifies how sites linked to major roads can support the local economy, market agricultural and heritage products, and boost tourism in the region.
