Professional boxer Hannah Robb killed in Texas cycling incident

Rising professional boxer Hannah Robb, 26, was killed while riding her bicycle on a rural road in Texas after a driver deliberately struck her with his car, according to carriermanagement.com.

The Brazos County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred on Saturday morning as Robb was cycling with another person. A driver, identified as Charles Medina, 31, passed them, then stopped and reversed his vehicle, hitting Robb, according to an official statement cited by carriermanagement.com.

Emergency responders transported Robb to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police noted the crash happened about 130 kilometers northwest of Houston.

Robb grew up in Yorktown, Indiana, graduated from Purdue University in 2022, and moved to Texas in 2024 to work as a safety inspector at Texas A&M University while continuing her professional boxing career. She had a record of eight wins, no losses, and one draw. Last month, she fought Tiara Brown for the WBC women's featherweight title in Orlando, Florida, losing by unanimous decision.

Investigation and suspect in custody

Police said Charles Medina was arrested and charged with manslaughter, with bail set at $250,000. The motive for the incident remains unclear, and no attorney was listed for Medina in court records as of yet.
