Al-Ahsa governor attends closing ceremony of Loumi Al-Hasawi 2026 exhibition

Al-Ahsa Governor Saud bin Talal bin Badr attended the closing ceremony of the Loumi Al-Hasawi 2026 exhibition today, joined by Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, as well as a number of officials, partners, sponsors, and participants.

At the start of the event, the governor inaugurated the "Lemon City 2" project, an initiative by Reef Foundation, and witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding and agreements aimed at boosting agricultural development, developing value chains, and supporting farmers and entrepreneurial projects to further grow the agricultural sector and maximize investment opportunities in Al-Ahsa.

The governor emphasized that the Loumi Al-Hasawi exhibition, organized by the Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with its partners at the exhibition center, showcases the region's rich agricultural and economic resources and the promising growth potential of its local products. He noted the strong support the agricultural sector and local products receive from the national leadership, highlighting the exhibition's evolution, expansion of partnerships and initiatives, and the shift from marketing to manufacturing and investment, which reflects the region's efforts to leverage its comparative advantages for greater developmental and economic impact.

He also praised the exhibition's initiatives and agreements aimed at empowering farmers and entrepreneurs, developing value chains, and improving the quality of local products. He stressed the importance of continued collaboration among government, private, and non-profit sectors to open new opportunities for local agricultural products, enhance their competitiveness and sustainable growth, and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, Deputy Minister Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti said that the "Lemon City 2" project marks a significant step in supporting agricultural development in Al-Ahsa. He noted the project covers more than 3.1 million square meters, includes 183 agricultural holdings, and features over 80,000 trees, all contributing to increased production efficiency, enhanced economic value of local crops, and support for the sustainability of the agricultural sector.

The governor also witnessed the signing of three memorandums of understanding: one between the Al-Ahsa Development Authority and the Saudi Reef Academy to build and develop agricultural and rural capacities and strengthen value chains; another between the Al-Ahsa Chamber and Mango Jazan Company to develop agricultural products and support farmers in meeting quality standards; and a third in which the Al-Ahsa Chamber signed agreements with several entrepreneurs to help transition their projects to manufacturing and establish factories for their products, in cooperation with relevant entities.

Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Afaleq, chairman of the Al-Ahsa Chamber of Commerce, said the governor's patronage has contributed to the exhibition's growth and impact. He explained that the third edition attracted more than 104 participants and featured 84 processed products across an area exceeding 10,000 square meters. He noted the exhibition focused on turning opportunities into sustainable partnerships and investment projects, and supporting the shift of local products from marketing to manufacturing.

At the end of the ceremony, the governor honored partners, sponsors, and organizations that contributed to the exhibition's success and supported its programs and activities, furthering its goals of serving the agricultural sector and local products.
