Expert outlines four key reasons for frequent app updates

Ahmed Al-Harithi, assistant professor of software engineering, has identified four main reasons why companies frequently update their applications.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, Al-Harithi said these reasons include fixing programming errors, addressing security vulnerabilities, ensuring compatibility with devices, and improving products by adding new features.

He added that applications may develop bugs that only become apparent after use, which then need to be fixed. Security vulnerabilities can also affect user data, while constant advancements in devices require updates for compatibility. Additionally, updates may introduce new features to the app.

Companies routinely issue regular updates for all their applications to deliver optimal performance and address any issues that may arise during use.
