National Center for Falcons hosts workshop on digital licensing for breeding centers

The workshop on the 'Licensing Mechanism for Falcon Breeding Centers in the Kingdom,' organized today by the National Center for Falcons as part of the International Falcon Breeding Farms Auction 2026, outlined the steps to obtain licenses for breeding centers, the main requirements for establishing and operating them, and the digital services provided by the National Center for Wildlife Development through the 'Fatri' platform.

Mohammed Al-Muqrin, Director of Licensing and Permits at the National Center for Wildlife Development, presented an overview of the regulatory framework for wildlife breeding centers. He explained that the regulations focus on responsible breeding, species conservation, genetic diversity protection, adherence to animal welfare standards, and compliance with regulatory controls.

He noted that applying to establish a breeding center requires seven main documents: a license application form, a breeding center project plan, environmental impact assessment requirements according to project classification, site map and information, proof of applicant identity or commercial registration, proof of land ownership, and a lease agreement.

Al-Muqrin reviewed the electronic licensing process, which begins with the applicant submitting a request via the 'Fatri' platform, followed by a specialist's review, fulfillment of requirements, submission to the relevant department, final approval, payment of the fee, and receipt of the license. The application review process takes five working days.

The workshop revealed statistics from the 'Fatri' platform, which has issued more than 531,000 licenses and permits, serves over 135,000 users, and has a beneficiary satisfaction rate of 92.2%. The average license issuance time is 4.5 days, with an annual licensing growth rate of 39%.

The platform offers wildlife-related services including import, export, transport, display, and breeding licenses, as well as falcon passports and other services. It is also integrated with several government platforms to streamline procedures and reduce time and effort for users.
