Joshua and Prenga headline as boxers gather for Jeddah press conference

Jeddah Yacht Club and the Edition Jeddah Hotel hosted the Grand Arrivals Launch Party on Wednesday evening, marking the start of fight week for the global boxing event 'The Comeback.' The festivities continue through to Saturday night at Jeddah Superdome, featuring top international, Saudi, and Arab boxers.

The event welcomed fighters from the main card, a number of invited personalities, and media representatives in a celebratory atmosphere. Boxers made their entrances to their signature music before stepping into the ring.

Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua of Britain and Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga were the evening's main attractions, as anticipation builds for their headline bout. Both are known for their knockout power: Joshua boasts 29 professional wins, 26 by knockout, while Prenga has 20 wins, all by knockout.

Joshua and Prenga first faced off on Tuesday aboard a yacht at Jeddah Yacht Club, marking their initial appearance during fight week. The meeting set the stage for the event's media coverage before both joined the rest of the fighters at Wednesday's arrivals party.

'The Comeback' fight night features 13 bouts, including two world title fights and three matches with Saudi participation. Mohammed Al-Aql will face Malta's Lydon Chircop, Ziyad Almaayouf meets Mexico's Frank Mango, and Sultan Al-Mohammed takes on Spain's Efren Peisaldos.

The evening also includes Britain's Hamzah Sheeraz defending his WBO super welterweight title against Germany's Simon Zachenhuber, while fellow Briton Josh Kelly puts his IBF super welterweight title on the line against Ireland's Caoimhin Agyarko. The card features further international and Arab matchups, including Egypt's Omar Heikal, who faces Spain's Bryan Castellano, and Mohamed Mabrouk, who meets Colombia's Bryan Zapata, following their notable performances at May's 'Glory in Giza' event.

The event is part of a comprehensive fight week program, one of the highlights of the Jeddah Calendar, held in collaboration with Riyadh Season and in partnership with Matchroom, Sela, Gold Star, and Queensberry.

Fight week continues on Thursday with the official press conference for all boxers at Jeddah Promenade at 9 p.m., where participants will meet the media and discuss their preparations ahead of their anticipated matchups. The press conference will be broadcast on the DAZN platform.
