Qassim governor attends golden day of Al-Busaytin grape festival

Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, attended the golden day of the grape festival at Al-Busaytin Center in Uyun Al-Jiwa Governorate, joined by officials, farmers, and agricultural sector stakeholders.

During his tour of the festival, he viewed the accompanying events and exhibitions, inspecting samples of grapes from participating farms and noting their diversity and quality. He also received a briefing on the displayed products and the farmers’ efforts to improve production and enhance quality.

The festival showcases part of the output from around 60 grape farms, spanning more than 1,021 hectares and featuring approximately 1,286,460 fruit-bearing grapevines, highlighting the region’s prominence in grape production.

Praise and call for investment

The Qassim governor praised the farmers’ efforts in developing grape cultivation and products, stressing the importance of seizing investment opportunities in grape-related processing industries. He called for transforming agricultural products into value-added goods to boost farmers’ economic returns and broaden investment and marketing opportunities.

In his speech at the ceremony, Uyun Al-Jiwa Governor Abdullah Al-Assaf welcomed the Qassim governor, expressing appreciation for his patronage, support for festivals and agricultural products, and backing for farmers, which contributes to the development of Qassim’s agricultural sector.

The event concluded with the Qassim governor honoring supporters of the festival in recognition of their contributions to its activities and programs, followed by commemorative photographs.
