Saudi Arabia’s Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission today inaugurated the Kingdom’s pavilion at the 2026 Baku International Book Fair, held in the Azerbaijani capital from October 21 to 25, 2026.

Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, stated that Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Baku fair reflects the strong cultural ties between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan. He noted that the event highlights Saudi intellectual and literary activity to Azerbaijani and international audiences, and that the pavilion offers a comprehensive view of the Kingdom’s creative and intellectual diversity under Saudi Vision 2030.

Al-Wasel added that the Commission aims, through this participation, to empower Saudi creatives and publishers and to expand opportunities for partnership and knowledge exchange in the publishing sector. He pointed out that the fair serves as a key platform to promote cultural dialogue and strengthen connections among intellectual and literary elites globally.

The Saudi pavilion features a range of government and cultural entities led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, including the King Fahd National Library, King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Turkey, and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy (Dar Al-Qalam), offering a comprehensive picture of the national cultural landscape.

The Commission has also prepared an accompanying cultural program featuring a series of panel discussions and poetry evenings with leading Saudi writers and intellectuals. These events will address topics in literature, publishing, and translation, and spotlight Saudi cultural achievements and their impact internationally.

This participation is part of the Commission’s efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s cultural presence at major international events and to promote national initiatives supporting authors and books, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a leading cultural destination and a beacon of knowledge.
