Digital transformation streamlines processes, differs from digitization and AI: expert

Mohammed Al-Namri, head of the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Tabuk, said digital transformation means reducing and accelerating procedures, a concept that differs from digitization and artificial intelligence.

Speaking in an interview with Al Ekhbariya TV, Al-Namri explained that applications such as Najiz and Absher are examples of digital transformation, while services powered by artificial intelligence represent a completely different level.

He noted that digitization refers to moving transactions from paper to screen, whereas digital transformation involves streamlining processes. Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, enables systems to understand situations, draw conclusions, and assist in decision-making.
