Interactive craft experiences draw crowds at Al-Owaigila farmers market

The Al-Owaigila governorate in the Northern Borders region has seen strong visitor turnout at the interactive craft corners accompanying the Farmers Market, organized by the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture at the Al-Khaleej neighborhood stadium. The event runs for four days.

The pottery painting and handmade candle-making corners proved especially popular, offering children and families the chance to decorate and paint pottery pieces. This activity helped develop creative skills and introduced visitors to traditional crafts rooted in local cultural heritage.

At the handmade candle-making corner, visitors learned about the production process, from preparing raw materials and melting wax to pouring, shaping, and decorating the final product. They also explored the skills required for this craft and its role in supporting productive families, developing their products, and marketing them.

These corners highlighted local talents, promoted a culture of craftsmanship, and encouraged the purchase of national products, aligning with the market’s goals of supporting farmers, productive families, and small business development.
