Zara Larsson hints at cancelling Abu Dhabi concert over Sudan war

Swedish singer Zara Larsson has hinted at possibly cancelling her upcoming concert in Abu Dhabi, scheduled as part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 weekend in December, after social media users urged her not to perform due to the UAE's role in the Sudan war.

The speculation arose after a follower commented on one of Larsson's Instagram posts, asking her to read about the UAE's actions in Sudan and to cancel her Abu Dhabi show. Larsson replied, "I won't go to Abu Dhabi" with a heart emoji. Both comments were later deleted.

Larsson's posts have since been flooded with messages urging her not to perform in the UAE, with followers citing the country's alleged involvement in what has been described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

Despite the controversy, Larsson remains listed among the artists scheduled to perform in Abu Dhabi on December 3, alongside Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, according to current ticket listings. Capaldi has not commented on his participation.

Larsson is known for her outspoken views on issues she cares about. She previously lost a multi-million dollar commercial deal after refusing to apologize for a joke about abortion she posted on TikTok.
