Asir Municipality upgrades roads, plants one million flowers for winter tourism season

Asir Municipality is continuing municipal projects to improve the urban landscape and enhance the appeal of cities and governorates for tourism, through the development of roads, sidewalks, and public squares, as well as expanding the planting of seasonal flowers.

These efforts coincide with preparations for the winter season, which sees increased tourism activity in several governorates, especially in coastal destinations and areas with mild weather. Parks, squares, and public facilities are key elements in improving the visitor experience.

The municipality has announced the start of planting one million seasonal flowers this winter, including varieties such as petunias, chrysanthemums, and geraniums, aiming to increase green spaces, beautify roads and squares, and add vibrant colors to urban sites.

The planting efforts include selecting suitable locations, distributing seasonal flowers, and implementing programs for agricultural care, maintenance, and beautification, with specialized teams ensuring the sustainability of the aesthetic appearance and improvement of the urban environment.

These initiatives help transform roads and public squares into attractive spaces for leisure and photography, with flowers arranged around trees and along roads and public facilities.

On the infrastructure front, the municipality continues to maintain and resurface roads to improve the efficiency of the traffic network and facilitate movement between residential, commercial, and entertainment areas.

The municipality is also upgrading sidewalks and walkways and enhancing pedestrian areas to improve access to facilities and services, creating a more comfortable and safer urban environment.

Beautification and greening projects are integrated with infrastructure development to shape an urban identity that reflects the natural and touristic features of Asir, highlighting its beauty and competitiveness as a tourist destination.
