Islamic University launches 'Innovation Hour' program in AI and digital manufacturing

The Islamic University, through its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, has launched the 'Innovation Hour' program to promote and nurture innovation among its students and the wider Madinah community in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital manufacturing.

The program offers workshops and hands-on experiences in several areas, including 3D printing, circuits, wiring and measurement, model design using Fusion 360 software, sensors and Arduino, solar energy, laser cutting and cost calculation, the use of artificial intelligence in daily work, Python programming basics, app development, robotics manufacturing, as well as transforming ideas into prototypes and organizing laboratory tours.

Hossam Al-Harbi, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the university, explained that the program aims to develop and encourage innovation among university students and the Madinah community. It equips participants with essential skills to help them implement projects in electricity, electronics, and digital manufacturing through practical workshops and hands-on experiences using manufacturing and 3D printing tools, providing knowledge in a practical and applied manner.

Dr. Al-Harbi added that the program is held every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. until November 24, 2026, at the university's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. At the end of the program, participants will showcase their innovative projects at an exhibition before a scientific committee, which will select and honor the winning projects.
