Clouds create stunning natural scenes over Al-Baha’s Sarawat peaks and Tihama

Sweeping clouds drifting among the peaks and slopes of the Sarawat mountains in Al-Baha created striking natural vistas, covering parts of the mountain slopes and roads and stretching across wide areas of the Tihama region. The scene combined rugged terrain with the white clouds scattered between the mountains.

The Saudi Press Agency captured images of clouds extending below the mountain summits, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy panoramic views from elevated spots and watch the clouds flow between valleys and slopes. Winding roads appeared along the hillsides amid natural formations that highlight the geographic contrast between the Sarawat highlands and the Tihama plains.

Al-Baha’s mountain lookouts are popular destinations for visitors seeking natural scenery, especially when clouds and fog form. The high elevations offer expansive views of surrounding slopes and peaks, providing photography enthusiasts with ever-changing scenes as the clouds move and shift in density.

Rising appeal in summer

Al-Baha’s diverse landscape is evident from the heights of the Sarawat mountains down to the Tihama region, where highlands and plains are connected by roads carved through rugged terrain. The most prominent is the Aqabat Al-Baha road, linking Sarawat to Tihama, stretching about 46 kilometers and featuring 25 tunnels and 52 bridges.

The appeal of Tihama’s scenic overlooks grows during the summer, as mild weather and the formation of clouds and fog on the highlands transform the peaks and lookouts into destinations for picnickers, nature lovers, and photographers—showcasing the natural and touristic assets that distinguish Al-Baha.
