Tech expert urges vigilance over passwords and security for home surveillance cameras

Tech content creator Zaid Salama has warned about methods used to hack home surveillance cameras, urging people to pay close attention to passwords and security settings.

Speaking in an interview on Al-Ikhbariya radio, Salama noted that home cameras have become increasingly common, especially as children and elderly family members are often left at home.

He added that awareness alone is no longer sufficient when it comes to purchasing and installing cameras. Installers often set up the cameras and create an email account for operation, but homeowners frequently overlook the importance of setting a secure password.

Salama stressed that for smart camera installations, the email and password should be exclusive to the user, who should also regularly change the password and ensure that only they have access to monitor the cameras.
