Egyptian Actors Syndicate president Ashraf Zaki announced on Sunday the death of actor Mohamed El-Taji at the age of 72, following a recent health crisis.

Zaki stated that the late actor’s funeral will be held on Monday at Al-Thawra Mosque in Nasr City, Cairo.

In recent days, El-Taji underwent a delicate surgery due to severe back pain that affected his ability to walk. He also had abdominal surgery to remove fatty lumps, in addition to a series of previous operations, including hernia surgery and three consecutive procedures, all of which negatively impacted his health.

Distinguished artistic career

Mohamed El-Taji was born in Cairo on April 28, 1954, and was the grandson of the late actor Abdel Warith Asser. Throughout his career, he played prominent roles in dozens of films, television series, and stage plays.

El-Taji appeared in the play “Al-Motazawijoun” alongside Samir Ghanem and Sherine, the film “Al-Motared” with Nour El-Sherif and Soheir Ramzy, the series “Al-Bashayer” with Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, and “Hadaeq Al-Shaytan” with Jamal Soliman, in addition to other dramas such as “Molouk El-Ged’ana,” “Al-Ajhar,” “Al-Ataoula,” and “El-Le’ba.”
