In a statement on X, the authority explained that indoor air quality means maintaining a safe and healthy environment inside closed spaces such as shopping malls, schools, mosques, and homes. The authority stated that sources of these pollutants range from air fresheners, incense smoke, cooking fumes, and cleaning products, to smoke from combustion processes, as well as dust and dirt.
The authority warned that exposure to these pollutants can cause short-term health effects such as nasal and eye allergies, headaches, fatigue, and asthma attacks, and may also lead to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases over the long term.
