A study has found that replacing 30 minutes of sitting each day with physical activity is linked to a 31% reduction in the risk of dying from cancer.

The research, conducted by the MD Anderson Cancer Center and reported by Russia Today, noted that active muscles help regulate blood sugar levels.

Health guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, along with two weekly sessions of muscle-strengthening activities.

Daily activity can be increased through simple steps such as walking, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, dancing, cycling, practicing yoga, standing and moving regularly during work hours, or holding some meetings while walking instead of sitting.
