Hunter Biden says father's cancer has spread, causing severe pain

Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, revealed in a press interview that his father's prostate cancer has spread to other parts of his body, causing him severe pain, despite his continued engagement in public affairs.

In an extended interview with the BBC aired on Friday evening, Hunter Biden was visibly emotional as he discussed his father's condition, describing it as "extremely sad."

He said: "The cancer has spread, reaching his bones and even other areas. It is extremely painful and significantly affects his life in many ways."

Biden, 83, was the oldest person to serve as President of the United States, and his age was a concern throughout much of his four-year term.

The former president disclosed his cancer diagnosis in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House.

Hunter Biden said, "The diagnosis was difficult for the family. It is truly sad to witness. The only thing I would say about my father and his health now is that I wish he would complain more, because his condition is not good."

He explained that Joe Biden remains "active" and continues to speak publicly on issues that matter to him, saying: "He is still fulfilling his role. He strongly believes in this country."
