Saudi Arabia concludes participation in Moscow International Book Fair 2026

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has concluded Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Moscow International Book Fair 2026, held from September 2 to 6 in the Russian capital. The event drew significant cultural and intellectual interest, reflecting the Kingdom’s rising stature in literature, publishing, and translation, and underscoring its active role on the global cultural stage.

Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, said Saudi Arabia’s participation in the fair is part of ongoing efforts to showcase Saudi literary and intellectual output and to highlight the transformations underway in the Kingdom’s literature, publishing, and translation sectors. He noted that the Saudi pavilion offered a comprehensive view of the country’s vibrant cultural movement and its rapid development under Saudi Vision 2030.

He explained that the accompanying cultural program helped spotlight Saudi creative experiences through a series of panel discussions and poetry evenings, which addressed issues in literature, publishing, and translation, and highlighted Saudi cultural achievements and their international impact, with the participation of prominent Saudi writers and intellectuals.

He added that the event provided an opportunity to strengthen professional ties and build knowledge partnerships with those working in the book and publishing industry, contributing to broader cooperation and cultural exchange, and supporting the reach of Saudi content to wider audiences in Russia and internationally.

The Saudi pavilion featured a number of government, cultural, and knowledge organizations, led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, with participation from the King Fahd National Library, King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Abdulaziz Endowment Libraries Complex, King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an, Nashir Publishing and Distribution Company, King Abdulaziz Center for Intercultural Communication, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Turkey, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center for Arabic Calligraphy. This collective effort reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its presence at international cultural events.
