Northern Borders deputy governor launches 'Our Northern Summer 2026' in Arar

Under the patronage of Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Northern Borders Region, Deputy Governor Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz yesterday inaugurated the 'Our Northern Summer 2026' festival, organized by the Northern Borders Municipality. The event, held at the Cultural Center in Arar, was attended by several government officials.

Upon his arrival at the venue, the national anthem was played, followed by a formal ceremony that began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an.

Engineer Awad bin Makhlaf Al-Suqri, Mayor of the Northern Borders Region, delivered a speech emphasizing that the 'Our Northern Summer 2026' festival reflects the municipality’s commitment to offering quality programs and activities that stimulate social and entertainment life, and strengthen the region’s appeal as a destination for residents and visitors alike.

The ceremony featured a poetry recital and traditional performances, including an operetta, the Saudi Ardah, and the Dahha dance, all highlighting the region’s cultural heritage.

At the conclusion of the event, the Deputy Governor honored supporting partners and received a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
